Michelin Cross Terrain updates ?

All,

Been away awhile. Trying to save my job..

For now , all looks good and the 4Runner stays :bigok:

Just got offered an almost too good to be true deal on the 18" TRD rims but they come as a package with 18" Cross Terrain 275/55/18s.

My plan is to keep the stock alloys for a decent A/T and run the 18's for regular street work (or posing  ) . Please tell me 18 inch TRD rims are not considered 'Bling' :P

Anyway, I did a search and there are some threads from a while back talking of poor wear and a google search and there are some concerns of really poor wet weather/hydroplanning.

Anyone here got experience ????

Thanks...glad to be back

David

David ... I ran Michelin Cross Terrains from when I got my truck until a month or so ago when I got new wheels and MTs ... I never had ANY problems with the tires hydroplaning or wearing too fast. I was actually really impressed with the tires, and they always felt absolutely safe and stable in the rain. (even at normal speeds!) Anyway, I have nothing negative to say about them -- I thought they were great, and I'd definitely run them again. There's a good reason dealerships offer them as an upgrade from the Dunlops!! :D

I've got about 20K on my 17" Cross Terrains and have no complaints. I've never had a hint of hydroplaning and the wear is okay, but not great. I rotate them every 5K and am guessing they'll be good for 40-50K at the current wear rate.

I've even done a fair amount of light off roading in them without any problems, though that may reflect more on the capabilities of the 4Runner than the tires. :bigok:
