BFG All Terrain or Bridgestone Duler AT?
 

Seems like everyone is making deals on BFG's these day? A few years ago these things were price fixed real high. What's up with that?

I actually want Dueler AT's. But if BFG AT's are OK, they would be OK.

These are for the FJ-62. No it's not going to be a monster show truck.

So I guess everyone is unhappy with BFG all terrains? I know Goodyear must have taken a huge chunk of the market with the MT/R.

I'll stick with the Bridgestone Dueler AT.

I didn't even see this post till now, must have gotten pushed down pretty quick. Although I haven't tried either one of them, I think the feeling on the internet is the BFGs are slightly better than the duelers. I'd say either one is fine, it won't make too much of a difference. Go with the cheaper ones.

I've got the Deuler AT Revos, and love them! For wet traction you can't beat them, but this won't be much of an issue in AZ

There is little to no road noise from the tires, and 6000 miles so far, with no real noticeable tread wear.

The BFG's definitely look more agressive, but since this will be for a street queen, may be a non-factor. Paid about $115/tire for the Revos.

I'll say what I say every time this topic comes up...

Both tires are meant for dual purpose (road and trail) use on a daily driver. Both are good dual purpose tires. If you want a tire that is a little better on-road, go with the Dueler. If you want a tire that is a little better off-road, go with the BFG.

I had the Duelers come stock on my 4Runner and I would never get them again. I had huge issues with uneven tread wear and cupping. I even had a Toyota dealership and several local tire shops tell me the Duelers were notorious for uneven tread wear. Were they blowing smoke up my :booty: , I don't know. I have the BFGs on my Runner now and like them alot. I do a 70 mile round trip every day for work and don't notice any excessive noise (they are louder than the stock tires) or any weird wear patterns. I do make sure I rotate them every 3000 miles.

Between the two I would recommend the BFGs.

Dueler HT's? The newer AT Revos are loved by most who have tried them, but I'm not saying that you didn't experience what you did.

I've had the Dueler AT Revos on my truck for about 5000 miles and I have nothing bad to say about them. Like someone said earlier they have been great in the rain. When I got them the BFGs were a lot more per tire and to me the BFGs look like :booty: . But, I must be in the minority with that thinking because everybody has them. We've had the regular Dueler ATs on our 1990 4Runner for 45,XXX miles and they have been great too, and cheaper than the Revos. I say for the price go with either of the Bridgestones. That's what you used to have on your 4Runner right? Before the modding began? ;)

You know...I don't remember :help: . I think they were pre-Revo A/Ts but I am not so sure now that I think about it. Bridgestone for sure, just not sure if they were A/T or H/T.

Let me put it this way: Overall, I have been happier with the BFG quality. No issues so far.

yea, I've never heard of an AT coming as the stock tire on a 4Runner. The HTs or HLs are pretty common, but not the ATs.

Yeah, I used to have Dueler AT's. I really liked them. Originally I wanted BFG's but they were like 175 a tire and duelers were like 120. No brainer there. That was back in 2000. Now things seem to have changed and the BFG's are really competitively priced. Both are priced exactly the same.

You guys should see how torn up my MT/R's are. I think I might kill the tread wheeling long before it wears down.


The FJ-62 is going to get some sort of AT 31's and a rear ARB locker. Sould be good for a while. I have this other truck that does pretty well too.

Not that it matters much, but the next tire that I am getting is going to be the BF Goodrich. I think that it looks great and BF has always been good to me. I can get them at a tire shop for about $110 a tire. That is a great price if you ask me. I would like to know how they hold up in the snow? Are they the same as the Duelers? :fireman:

BFG's all the way man, I have the A/T's on my Runner and the M/T's on my Silverado and they are both GREAT tires...no excessive tread wear and/or road noise. The M/T's are definately louder than the A/T's but I will sacrifice quietness for the INCREDIBLE traction that they get in mud/dirt...oh man, NOTHING stops my rig when I get in deep mud or loose dirt...those M/T's are the BEST!

I paid 160/tire for my bfg at's. Pretty costly, but I'm glad I got them.

They are going for 116 now mounted and balanced.
505 for 4 out the door they said.

Are you talking about the BFGs or Revos? Regardless, that is a good price....which tire store are you talking about?

Discount tire has the BFG AT's for 116

Costco has the BFG for 117

Dueler is 112 at Firestone and Costco

This is 31 x 10.5 x 15 for the Crusier.

BFG rules. From what I'm hearing about MTR's, BFG just keeps looking better and better.

Sorry, no experience with Bridgestones except from my 2000 Maxima - they were really soft, wore out quick and were expensive to replace due to their odd ball size.
