My Yota has the heart of a Pontiac!!!!!
Here's the specs.....
Engine, 97 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3800 Series II Supercharged, stock internals, ported blower, 1" ZZP intercooler coming soon, 72 mm ported stock throttle body, deleted factory MAF sensor port, LS1 MAF, 3.4" blower pulley, custom 1 5/8" headers dumping to a single 3" pipe with high flow cat. ECM, Same Wiring Harness, modified 93 4 runner Harness (Mine had an accident when a previous owner tried to "fix" the air conditioning by putting a 30 amp fuse in a 15 amp hole.) New harness is from an SR5, so now it is wired for cruise and power windows, mirrors, and door locks. Bellhousing, 99 Dodge Dakota 2.5 5 spd, 2wd (Has the correct bell pattern and used the same trans as yota.) with a new starter notch cut out on the drivers side. Clutch, jeep plate, camaro flywheel and pressure plate. Trans, Stock yota with a jeep ax15 input shaft, dakota front bearing retainer and flywheel. The rest of the running gear is stock. (For now.) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...p/DSC_0014.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...p/DSC_0016.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...p/DSC_0018.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...p/DSC_0017.jpg Working on the oil pan today (Enlarged and modified to clear the differential.) then finishing up the wiring. |
dang you need a shop, and a new bumper :D
|
Leave my piece of a bumper alone dammit..... Nah, thats the next thing getting fixed after I get her running. The bumper was just something to keep people outta my radiator. I will finish it up though.... The bumper is actually a really nice start, 3/16" wall 4x4 tubing with 1/4" mounts.

interesting choice for an engine... cant blame you for creativity :)

No belt on supercharger = no boost lol
I'm sure you have one lol Sweet swap man, +1 for creativity! |
Actually for the initial run I am not running a belt on the blower. Still has the stock 3.slow fuel pump. Boost-fuel pressure+heat=new pistons.

So, I have been welding for a LOOOOONG time, and I must have forgotten every rule in the book. I used a stock oil pan as a base for the one in the truck. This worked great, it fit, did not leak when fille with water, etc. then I went to bolt it on and noticed how HORRIBLY the flange was warped. Worked for an hour to no avail, it was beyond repair. Soooooo. Dug thru my scrap metal supply, found some 16 ga, 1/8" and 1/4" plate. This is the beginning of my "bulletproof" pan. 1/4" flange, 16 gauge walls, and 1/8" floor.....

More oil pan pics....
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...p/DSC_0026.jpg The tubes are to access oil pan bolts without removing the starter. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...DSC_0028-1.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...p/DSC_0030.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...p/DSC_0031.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...p/DSC_0034.jpg |
flux core rocks!! I was actually thinking of a 3800SC swap, glad to see it being done..

I dont know what that thing is....but its no longer a toyota.

To the original poster, you need to change the thread title. You truck has the heart of a Buick not a Pontiac:hillbill:

dont get me wrong, I love the idea of a bigger/nicer engine. but when it comes right down to it, the 3.slow isnt that bad. :) but then again I have to bad of A.D.D. to finish something like that ha

to each as their own but torque is better than hp in a 4x4 thats why I got both an 02 built/blown 11.67 stang and a 86 yoda with a low gear to climb a mountain.... best of both worlds and not compermising in either. Good luck tho hope it works out
|
no bs tho whats the point of the blower with no belt?

Read much? BTW, Rather have torque? The STOCK numbers on that motor were 240 hp and 280 Lb ft of TORQUE, it should be near 400 Lb ft with the smaller blower pulley, extensive tune, ported blower, and intercooler. |
Wow, What a good idea!
