You have "gm CPI motor " made from 1992 to 95 . Allmost 200 hp stock .
Good motor but " spider injector " the fuel injector is prone to leaking when they get old . Easy to replace if bad , cost about $175 .
Same motor I have in my 92 4runner.
I would do a basic tune up first then check for a vacum leak , then leaky injector.

If there's puddles of gas in the intake you have a leaking injector. If you put a new injector in , also put the fuel line kit in it to .

On the driver side of the intake there should be a vacuum valve with a electrical conector . Your missing hoes from the vacuum port under the butterfly goes to it then keeps going to the charcoal canister.

And yes it need to be hooked up or plugged up. It would be a vacuum leak.
