turbo diesel conv need help

So I have come to a crossroad with my 80 pickup just yesterday out of nowhere my 20r which has always ran great starting blowing white smoke out the exhaust. So I gave my self two options rebuild the 20r for with mods for more torque of swap it out for a turbo diesel motor. Well I like the diesel option much better so does anyone out there know of a good source for toyota diesel engines? I'm looking for a 2L T turbo model. I've done some searching with no luck. So if someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

CANADA.. or www.toyotadiesel.com the 2lte is great engine ive had it for a few years with just oil changes.. the 3l 3.0 is better..

But the 3L isn't a turbo engine is it?

well idk much about toyota diesels except for they are known for great MPG's..

if you want some torque go with a Cummins 4BT!!! even though they are REALLY heavy, with a solid axle you could beef up your front leaves to carry the weight nicely, a 4bt is basically a dodge cummins 6bt with 2 less cylinders, stock they make anywhere from 85-105 horsepower, and from 150lb ft of torque-a little over 250lbt ft

and with just a few turns on some screws you can be making close to 200hp and over 400lb ft of torque,
YES they ARE a monster...hahahaha

since they are basically a 6bt cummins..a lot of the parts are interchangable

1KTZ-T, I hear it's a great diesel. They have the entire front clip, so you have wires and everything

The 1KZ-T is better of course. I have always found the 2L-T not enought for a 4Runner...

Mine is 155hp with only an intercooler and a big exhaust.

All my buddies are diesel fanatics so i got some experince around diesels as well. Id have to agree go with the 4bt. It will fit and the easy part about it is that its all machinical and you want have to deal with computers or none of that.

By the way go to youtube and look for the 4bt ranger thats one of my buddies and that thing has some insane torque.
