How much oil should a 3.4 with the 3.0 pan take?

I swapped the stock 3.0 oil pan and dip stick to my 96 3.4 and now I am not sure how much oil I should put in the engine. How much do you guys run when you change your oil?

so...If I have a 3.0 oil pan attatched to my 3.4 swap on my 91, can I use the 3.4 sump and dipstick? I mean, can i just switch the pans and be good? I'm gonna run 3 or 4 inch springs up front, and will most likely not move to front hanger forward at all...
TIA

From what I can remember you can't use the 3.4 sump because the sump location is different between the 3.0 and the 3.4, this of course depends on what model you got the motor from. In my case I used a 4x2 T100 motor so I had to swap the oil pan and I ordered 15104-62060 as the oil pickup tube. Everything went together without any issues.

You can, and I did, use the 3.4 dipstick, the dipstick does look different lengths, but if you compare the actual area that is protrudes below the enclosure tube I think I remember it being the same length.

You have to match the pickup to the pan you use. If you have a SFA, you need a T100 2WD rear sump pan, and the pickup to match it.

What about the dipstick? I am swapping a 2wd T100 pan onto my 4runner so I can SAS it. Do I need a new dipstick and guide or will the original one from my runner 3.4 work?

so im a bit unclear about this part...when installing the rear sump and 2wd t100 oil pan, my baffle (the black metal piece between the bottom end and oil pan) doesnt allow for me to bolt up the support legs for the pickup tube w/o removing it or cutting it.

What is the accepted method here, can I run w/o the baffle or should i cut it and keep it?

and just out of curiosity, what is its purpose?

Which baffle are you running? The 3.4 baffle or the 3.0 baffle?

You want a baffle in there for sure, it keeps oil from sloshing up into the crank which robs you of horsepower.

Well its the 3.4 so I'm gonna asume its the 3.4 baffle. What's the difference, are they interchangeable?

They are not interchangeable. THe 3.0 baffle is a huge piece that bolts between the pan and the bottom of the engine. The 3.4 baffle is a smaller piece that bolts to the main bearing cradle. When I installed the rear sump pan on my 3.4 I didn't have to modify my baffle at all, so that is a little strange.

Its the 3.0s baffle then. Its a slightly curved black plate with some Holes cut in it, but its diameter is just as big as the pans...so...how much is the3.4 baffle josh? It would be awesome if you said I don't have to buy one...but I won't cross my fingers

Yea, thats the 3.0 baffle. Not sure why people use that thing.

The 3.4 baffle is $25 from Toyota

Ordered one for you.

Will be here in a few days, coming out of California.

Out of curiosity, what happened to the baffle that was in the 3.4 originally? Every 3.4 came with the same baffle that bolts to the main carriage.
