Manual tranny wiring

I swapped a 98 5spd 3.4 into a 93 T100 5spd.

The 98 did not use a VSS, so I have to run those wires. Why not just run that part of the 93 harness to all the trans plugs and VSS and then just strip the 98 harness down to the 2 O2 sensors and run it? Looking at the diagrams it would seem that there would even be a few less solder joints.

It worked. I have put about 20 miles on it and everything works fine and no codes.
