That crossover will hit the control arm on driver side. you need to tuck it closer to transmission side.

Any updates? I also plan on using my 3.0 stock transmission with a 2000 auto 3.4, will the t100 ecu work with the 2000 wiring harness? Or will that be more wiring I have to do? Any other tips on using the 3.0 auto?

Well, its been awhile since I've had the time or energy to work on my sons truck. He finally has got the eurge to work on it with dad.
This past weekend we dropped the engine into the engine bay got the motor mounts bolted up, mated the engine to bell housing, then the fun began....
Attempted to bolt the torque converter to flywheel and discovered that when the engine turns so doesn't the torque converter. Tried a few times but to no avail could I get the two to turn independ of each other to properly align.
Is my only option to unbolt the bellhousing from the engine and pry apart to get them aligned? Anyone know of any other tricks?

Sounds like the converter pulled out and dropped some. Have to pull it back out and Id inspect/replace the trans input seal

Well, this has all changed.

My son lost all interest in the 4runner, I wouldn't work on it unless he was there so its been sitting in the back of my house since 2014.
I told him today that I am taking the 4runner tired of it just sitting.
Change of direction for this swap.........
It will still be getting the 3.4 but it is now going to be a 5 speed. I was able to purchase a complete setup 1992 R150F 5 speed with pedals, hydraulics, and everything but the clutch kit. So now this is my project.

FINALLY! A 3.4 swap that'll take longer than mine! Haha...

Yay, a new project. Always fun. And you have your work cut out for you, with the manual and not needing to relocate the engine mounts.

I'll follow along for sure.

Here's the project.
1994 3.0 w A/T
swapping in
1998 3.4 out of a 4 runner A/T it has the newer white plugs on the wiring harness
1992 R150F
I have an ECU for a 1996 T-100 4x4 A/T 89661-34230 it receives the newer white plugs
I have an ECU for a 1996 4runner 4x4 M/T 89661-3D140 it takes the older plug types from the 2nd generation.

Should I repin the 3.4 harness using its white plugs and use the 1997 ECU and trick the ECU to thinking the truck is in park for the 5 speed
or should I repin the 3.4 harness using the older gray plugs and use the 1996 ECU with the 5 spd
