90 4runner 3.4 swap injectors not firing
heres the scoop.
1990 4runner sr5 v6 manual donor engine from a 1998 tacoma auto. engine is all in a few more wires to hook up for alt, 4wd, gauges, tranny, ive hooked up the basic wires for the computer. starter is hooked up, ig2 -ig2 is hooked up. computer is bolted to the body temporarily. the g-y from the COR - pin 23 on the e12 plug (e5 tacoma) i bought a 4x4 mt 5vz ecm so i dont have to worry about the tranny codes. i havent hooked up the obd2 port yet. now i have spark, i have fuel, and power to the injectors, i put my power probe on the ground side of the harness, and see if the light flickered green while cranking but i saw it flicker once and not again. ill try the noid light next. my main question is what does it take for the ecm to ground the injectors and complete the combustion cycle? cole :wrench: |
does anybody know if the fc pin has to be hooked up?
|
"FC" stands for "Fuel Control" and controls the COR, so yes, you need to have it connected.
|
Just hook up everything
|
turns out the batt pin wasnt hooked up.
its now firing but dies after a second, the cor is wired properly. sounds like it fires then dies and backfires through the intake |
hot wire the fuel pump and see if it stays running. If yes, you don't have FC wired properly.
|
it runs fine now!
turns out when i read somewhere that you hook the g-y wire to the the 23 pin on the e5 plug because of this all the other powered sensors like maf and tps didnt have a voltage, and it wouldnt stay running. |
