Changing trans & diff fluids

According to the service schedule for my '03 Tacoma 2wd, unless the vehicle is used under harsh conditions the tranny & rear end fluids never need changing. Do you guys agree? What rules of thumb do you use?

I change 'em out every 30K or so. Don't believe everything you read. I'm sure other members will chime in with their opinions. In the meantime, take a look at this link if you should decide to do your own maintenance. Hope it helps and welcome to the board!!!

I try and change them about every 65-70k.

Im guessing its a 5spd, those are the only trannies Ive seen that never recommend it. I've never owned a 5spd long enough to worry with it, but my auto is every 30k miles.

I'm going to be very wary of anything that isn't "ever" supposed to be replaced...
