Brake Questions!
Does anyone know how to stop that dreaded squealing when I apply pressure to the brake. It will stop after a apply a certain amount of pressure. It just seems like when I'm lightly braking they squeak sooooo loud. I just changed my rotors about a month and a half ago.
Also does anyone know how to adjust the rear brakes more where they'll be utilized more than the front. I think my fronts are seeing most of the action when I brake. |
Did you also replace the front pads when you did the rotors? I haven't replaced brakes on my 4runner yet, but going from past experience, there are shims or clips on some that help to reduce noise, and you can also but an anti-squeal compound. The squeaking could also be a sign that the pads are worn out.
Can't help you on the adjustment to set the rear up to handle more. I always thought the fronts did most of the work braking on most vehicles. |
Nope I didn't replace the pads. I had them done about 2 months prior to me installing the rotors.

Your front brakes are always going to take the lions share of the work. When you decelerate, the weight transfers to the front. If you try to get the back brakes to do more work, they are just going to lock up.
