I took a 93 4Runner 3vze and put it in a 91 4Runner. The 93 was auto and the 91 had 3vze also but a manual tranny. I'm using the manual transmission so I kept the manual ECU. I used the 93 engine wiring harness but left all the rest original on the 91. Everything is in and all connections were double checked but when I turn the key I get nothing. The starter won't kick at all. There is no power going to the solenoid wire when I turn the key over either. I tried to push start it and got nothing also. All electrical accessories & lights work. Obviously there is an electrical issue but I'm stumped. I notice that the under the hood fuse blocks are different but not sure if that matters. The 93 has the starter relay in it but the 91 has that relay in the cab. Both engines ran right before the swap. I sure could use some advice here. Thanks

Your best bet is to put the oringinal harness on the 93 engine, that way all the signals "line up". It may be better than trying to make an a/t engine work in an m/t truck.

I have a91 engine in a 88 and am fighting a "no injector pulse " issue.

Thanks Skypilot. You just may be right but I'm sure trying to avoid that mess. I have the donor stripped and it still looks like a pain to get the body harness out. I was hoping for some kind of work around that I could wire up or something I guess. Maybe wishful thinking but I'm still hopeful. Thanks again for the input
