My 1988 engine is shot. I got a used 1989-1994 (not exactly sure what year) used engine. Can I use my current 1988 harness and ecu in the new engine? Is there something that wont fit or that I should look out for when performing this swap?

 

Think that the 1988 fuel injectors are one year only, so the later injectors would be incompatable with the 1988 electrics.

Best plan would be to keep all '88 ecu and harness and transfer all '88 sensors, fuel injectors and upper intake manifold onto the later engine.

Both the bare long blocks should be identical.
