Having problems with the ECU wanting to stay in backup mode. So been troubleshooting everything on that engine. So at the least I may have to buy another ECU.
I do have radiator fans now bought 2 perma cool 10" 2300CFM that will hopefully do the trick. They are the highest flowing fan for the size.

The exhaust is almost done just gotta finish welding one more flange to hook up the 2' 3" glasspack that i have for it.

I'm using a new 22R-TE radiator its a 3 core instead of the stock 2core. I could run no fans when i had my 22r in there. The hoses are just from flex hoses from advance auto

The ECU that I had was bad, So found a 91 ECU at a junk yard and now the truck runs great. I got it warmed up and it started overheating. I'm just using water right now so i am going to pull the thermostat and put some real antifreeze in there and maybe some water wetter. Then do a good air bleed to it also because i haven't bled any of the air out yet. It did take it like 45 minutes for to finally start overheating though sitting in a hot garage.

UPDATE: Redline water wetter and prestone antifreeze does the trick for the overheating. Also stay tuned for some pics later.

If you are overheating you got air in your system.

Glad to see you got it running.

Hey I see 3 relays does this mean you are using a 1 speed fuel pump and not a 2 speed like the lexus .

I also see the power steering reservoir on the drivers side of youre intstall

the ls400 has the reservoir on the passanger attached to the pump what pump are you using.

The first relay from the right is the EFI relay, next is fuel pump and injector circuit relay and the thrid is the fan relays.

I'm using the sc400 PS pump and just ran a 3/4 hose to it for the supply and used the high pressure PS line from the SC400 for the feed to the PS box.

Hey so your using the toyota truck fuel pump .I saw these and was wondering about that, looks like the single speed is easier to wire up (3 relays ) not 4 relays (dual speed).

Dual speed

single speed

What do you think this will end up dollar wise? What was your biggest headache/headscratcher besides the ECU and cooling? Any surprises?

I'm probably getting close to 3 grand for this swap so far. So far the biggest headache has been the ECU. Other then that its been a pretty straight forward swap. The best advice so far is defiantly having a donor car.

Dual speed

single speed

So what exactly was the purpose off the 2 speed fuel pump if it isn't necessary??

From the FSM its to reduce the electrical load on the circuit by running the fuel pump in high only when needed.

I read that the high speed was used only when cranking, starting the car . But yea some swaps use only one speed and are fine with it ... is what I have read.

I believe that is kinda right, but the FPR does that at the time of starting to increase fuel pressurewhile the engine is hot. Mine is running just fine on the single speed. The transmission works and the transfer case does also. I also found the solution to replace the No. 1 and No. 2 Speed sensors from marlincrawler. http://www.marlincrawler.com/transfe...eed-sensor-mci This will hook right into where the speedo cable hooks up. This will fix the lack of the 4 pulse signal the computer needs to shift the transmission. Now this will make the speedo inop, but I also found another solution is a HUD displayed Speedometer GPS for only 88 bucks. http://www.expansys-usa.com/d.aspx?i=162308
