I say you won't have it done in a month....

My SC400 sump ended up right on top of the IFS front diff. I need to start looking for a front sump, but I haven't yet. Not sure how much up-travel you have in the front end, but I'm sure you know to keep an eye on it.

Nice work - keep it up

N8 the ls 400 has the front sump ,

I think you can do it in 1 month if you are using the auto from the lexus along with the wiring and ecm all from the same lexus .

gennro do you have pics of the rear sensor , did you drill for it on the tailhousing , or what did you end up doing.

Gennro interested in the tranny part of your swap , do you have any pics of the frankenstined tranny.

I know you swaped output shafts , did you use the 4 prong rotor from the lexus.

Did you do the swap of the output shafts your self or tranny shop.

I did all my own work, that speed sensor is not important except for running the speedometer so i didn't hook it back up or mess with it at all.

I thought the speed sensor kept the engine from revving above 2000 rpm unless it had some sort of pulse signal...?

I'll post up all the wiring information once i get it all done. Same as with cooling etc. Everything else is pretty straight forward. I'm not going to waste my time with the small stuff which anyone attempting this should already have most of the know how, tools, and skills required to do a swap of this magnitude.

Once you have the wiring information the engine is cake to wire up. I'm still in the process of testing stuff out and figuring out the rest of the wiring. The engine wiring is not quite as simple as a 22RE, but its not bad.

Are you using the Lexus ECU? And how are you doin the speedometer and tach? Would retrofitting the Lexus gauges be worth the work?

I know you run the tach off one bank of the distributor (it has two, four-cylinder distributors on the front of each cam housing) if it's a 22re truck, but I'm not sure how you would do a 3vze tachometer...?

I also read you could use a 4cy cluster in place of the 6cy one, something about the pulses .

Well cuz it has 2 distributors. You just use one it does 4 cylinders. Same RPM readings on half the engine.

Yes, you can use the tach signal off of one of the igniters to get a 4cyl tach output.

Also one guy at lextreme was having problems with his lexus tranny not changing gears while in low range because he did not use the speed sensor .

this is from his 1st post

I'll be using the A30-41LE 4 Speed auto-tranny with a A30-80 Transfer case for now. I had to swap out output shafts from the A30-80 to the A30-41LE to install the transfer case. Eventually I will install an inchworm adapter and run a 23-spline grear driven transfer case using the marlin gear kit with 4.7 gears.
