I have a 86 toyota pickup with Ifs and 4:10 gears, its 5 speed with 22r. I want to get more power with changing my rear end or tranny. So 350 and 4.3 from what i have read are out of question. And i want to stick with carburated. What should i do?

Turbo the 22RE! Still capable of good gas mileage but the power is there when you need it. Plus turbo motors are just cool.
Check out Darin's website for tons of great info (DCG on this forum).

I am VERY happy with my setup. Still haven't gone to the Dyno, but I think over 200hp to the wheels will be pretty easy (and over 250ft/lbs). With very basic tuning i'm still getting about 18/19mpg (I run 33's and stock gearing) and its running rich. I haven't gone through a tank yet on the full turbo setup that didn't see some trail time.
