are you looking to swap the motors or just the efi parts on the carb motor? if swapping motors youll need computer gas tank exaust manifold talilight wiring harness {contains the wiring for electric fuel pump and all of the wing in the front end of the truck motor harness headlight harness fuse box re engine and everything attatched to it

Just drag the whole truck home you will be glad you did.Plan just how your upgrading the fuel system to the EFI pressures

EFI fuel management ECU engine harness and Injectors.all the sensors

Figure out if your swapping parts or the complete engine.

Then go from there :welder:.

I am swapping complete engines. I'm not sure if I wait to swap fuel tanks or go with external pump. What are some opinions?

hey I'm about to swap a 22re out of an 85 into my 82 pickup it's running a 22r with L50 tranny it should just plug right up ?

wyoming9 02-06-2016 01:33 AM

Depends just what you mean by "plug right up"

Corey Burke 02-07-2016 07:03 AM

I mean it should bolt up to the engine mounts and tranny

Yes that part will go together

Hello everybody,I have a 94 toyota 4x4 22re needs a engine would a 89 22r work in my truck? the 89 22r runs good and it's affordable and what I can afford ty everybody for your input .

The 89 motor will work. You will have to remove the dish cam that drives the mechanical fuel pump and swap distributors. Add your fuel filter mount on the passenger side and all of your intake and emissions to the motor.

If using a 2wd motor, you will need to swap oil pans and pickup tubes.
