J-arm stuck on axle?? wtf?? help
Hey guys
Doing a SAS on a '90 4runner and I'm having a little trouble getting the J-arm off the 85 front axle. Got the passenger side off easy and installed the hi-steer arm on that side. The drivers side is loose and I can pull the j arm up about ~.25" then it stops and won't go up anymore. Cone washers are out, studs don't look bent (but i guess they could be). I tryed prying it upwards GENTLY but I didn't want to hurt anything Any ideas? anyone ever have this problem before? Thanks Joe |
anyone?

just take a hammer and pound upward on it until it comes out. its probably just stuck a bit in the kingpin bearing.

Use the BFH.
If that fails use the BMFH. |
very common on stock axles that have never had the kingpin bearing replaced. hope you have a spare kingpin bearing as it will be ruined after you beat the arm out.
