Peligreen/Ponderosa Way to Chico -6/12-13
Since the Squaw ridge trail is still truck deep in snow, We have another trail going to happen in Northern California. The plan is to go up Friday night to Finley Lake (hogsback road) near the head of the trail, camp and start out Saturday morning around 9:30 or 10. Saturday night I plan to camp at Black Rock on Mill Creek after a nice day in the rocks. Sunday morning, we will set off south on Ponderosa Way and down into Chico.
Hopefully all those that were going on the Squaw Ridge trip will be able to make this and maybe some of the guys further north can join in

i don't think i'm gonna be able to make this one guys. if it were squaw i might have been able to swing it for a day trip, but i can't on this one since it's so far away. i really enjoyed myself though, but hopefully it won't be so dry and dusty for you guys this time. definitely gonna try to make things open up next time for the squaw trip.

Just wanted to remind everyone not to forget your camp chairs and anything else you might need. I am dang close to having everything packed up except for food. took the top off yesterday pretty nice I gotta say. trying to figure a better way to haul my hi-lift but I doubt I get to that before the trip. I will probably be bringing my dog again just gotta make sure he does not dive out after cows again lol.
also good things to bring
bug repellent!!! walmart sells this repel stuff that you spray on your clothes and let dry. works pretty well. I also carry 100% DEET but that leaves an oily feel and has an odor.
plenty of water and drinks
shovel
Warm clothes for evening.

I need to find out what restrictions are for camp fires right now. usually after june 1st they are pretty stingy on fires. may have to get a permit but those are free

Usually from the first rain till march 1st no permit is required. In march a permit is required but they are free. Still trying to contact the cdf to see if they are even offering them now.
Ok got the info. Can still get a camp fire permit at the local county fire dept.
Hey Fairy is Shaggy and Moon gonna make it down or are they both busy workin?

Permits can be had here. Head on down to the bottom.

I think you just need to call to make sure it isn't too dry. Otherwise your fine all year unless they put out a restriction.

We have had restrictions of camp fires for the last 4 years up here. it has just been that dry and hot. what was it last year or the year before when we had all the big fires the put a ban on camp fires because the NFS and cal fire where to busy to respond to new fires lol.
