Looks like I am staying home this weekend so was wondering if anyone would like to head up a run to Evans creek on Sat.

Bill, I my father in law wants to go somewhere, I'm going to go to either Evans Creek or Tahuya. I'll see what he says when he gets here tomorrow.

How the heck did you wreck your truck?

upndair 12-10-2002 03:21 PM

I think I'm looking good for a short run. My father-in-law wants to go.

Who's up for a Evan's Creek Run.

My plan is to run 519A from 7930 to 610, come back down 610 198. Run 198 tom the top all th eway back to the camp ground then head on home. Given the current weather, that should be an ALL day trip!

Was it the Lake Isabel trail, right after the log bridge?:)

We're on, be prepared for some wet and wild wheelin!!!!!!!

With all this rain and lower snow levels we could have quite a trip on our hands.

8:30am at the church at 9:00 at the 410 cafe. Tell whomever wants to come.

Bring recovery equipment and lockers are preferred. There is only one section of trail that may be very tough, but it's going to be messy :o)

OK for all you women who didn't make this trip, the real men showed up and had a great time.

All kidding aside, this wasn't a trip for the weak of heart. Off camber sections, big rocks, stumps, hills, mud, snow, deep water holes etc, made for a great trip.

Wrongway Bill found that his new locker was awesome but a new set of times and perhaps wheels is in order to continue on trips like this.

We met up with a group from Jeep (AKA Heeps) unlimited. 4 of us left the rest of the group of 12 rigs, to run the 197 loop then 520. Right before the start of the trail was a large water hole. Bill was about 1" from swamping his motor. His air filter was full of water and the distributor cap had to be removed and his ignition dried. An omen of things to come :o)

Bill was one heck of a trooper going through trails built for heavily modified rigs. Guts and horsepower got him through the trails, but not without some damage. OK, let's define "some"... I think every panel on his rig suffered some insult, the front bumper looks more like a pretzel and his headlights are hanging by the wires.

The rest of our gang was me with 37" tires, high articulation suspension, 37x12.50 tires and lots of clearance. Robin in a late model jeep with highly modified suspension, 39.50 x15" tires who climbed trees for fun and Chris with a late model jeep running a highly modified suspension 35" tires. Everyone was fully locked besides Bill. Besides filling his rims with wood, he got through spots that noone in their right mind with his rig should have gotten through and all in pretty good spirits.

These trails were definitely not for a stock rig or anything larger than a 4Runner. Lots of traction, articulation and body protection are required, as well as some big cahuna's. If ya thought 311 was tough, that was nothing...

Bill's off the trail till he finds some better tires so if anyone has a line on some 33" tires for Bill, give him a hollar. All I have are 35's which won't fit under his fenders...

I think I am glad I couldn't go (?)

Corey 12-14-2002 06:07 PM

Sounds like you guy's had a cool time.
I think Bill is going to be needing a snorkel too :)

Hey, the tires that Rob has, the Les Schwab RVT Tracs are a great tire.
I may get those next time instead of the TXRs I have now.

Bill, you should check into those.
These are 33" x15's on Rob's rig.

upndair 12-14-2002 06:54 PM

Scott, I think you would have had a blast but we need to get those rock magnets off the side of your rig. My rock sliders saved by A$$ out there today. There is no paint left on the outside of them. I used those suckers all day long to slide, around, over and along. Without them, I would have had $1000s in damage to the body.

I should have some videos available by tomorrow sometime on www.faithwheelers.com

Unfortunately, my videographer had some troubles with my camera and ended up taking more video of his lap and the ground, than the rigs...
