what issues should i look for when buying a 3rd gen 4 runner
 

hey guys :wave: im looking at either trading my four wheeler for, or selling and buying , a 3rd gen toyota four runner. i was wondering what were some common issues that i needed to watch out for...

don't get the fat lip bumper equipped 3rd gen...about the ugliest toyota bumper ever, just behind a 2WD T100 long bed truck

Oh it has 161k on it so i figure thats on the low side for a car thats 14 years old

if its an auto tranny make sure you get rid of the rad with the built in trans cooler, make sure the timing belt has been done

Does the distributor run off the timing belt like it runs off the chain like on the 22re? How hard is that to replace

if im right it runs off the cam in the back, timing is a PITA, but doable
