Sell or Fix?
I've got a '95 Runner, 3.0 auto, 175k. Got a good deal on it and put some money into it upfront: new brakes, new belts, water pump, new tires (Hankook Dynapros). I dropped it off at the mechanic earlier in the week to run some diagnostics after it's been acting up lately (lots of exhaust, no heat). I figured it would be a head gasket issue, and he confirmed it.
So the question is, do I fix it, or sell it? I know I can't get much with the head gasket issues, although anyone buying a 95 Runner should probably know to expect this. The problem is we don't have a garage at our house (just park on the street), so we'd have to rent out a storage unit before even thinking about tearing the engine apart. It's spent its whole life in the southwest, so it's rust-free and in great condition for a 15+ year old car. Just not sure how much more time and money I want to put into it (considering I want a new tri bike, which costs more than the Runner is worth :D). Thoughts, suggestions, or offers to buy?? |
i think you should fix it. got any pics of it?
