Restored SR5 Shift Knobs
 

Just posting a few pics of a few SR5 shift knobs I’ve restored with a perforated vinyl material. I always thought the emerald green shift pattern crest knobs from the 70’s - 80’s were Toyota’s most beautiful, so I had some fabricated. It took me over 20 hrs. of trial & error to develop the material pattern template. Cutting the panels and hand stitching each takes about 3 hrs.

Too cool! I'd definitely be interested in a black material/red stitching/green badge knob. I'm not sure that my old one is in good enough condition to restore, as it is trying to separate in half between the threads and the badge.

I can separate the material from the knob and, depending on the condition of the shift pattern crest, may be able to restore the clear crystal. I’m out of green crest badges and only offer black or grey with black or grey stitching. If interested, PM me a pic of you knob and I’ll give you my opinion if I can restore it.

Have you ever thought about getting into the twin stick shift boot business? When I got to the point when I realized I needed one on my rig I was too burned out with the build to find someone to customize one for me. But there are cheap stock reproductions on ebay that would just need to be trimmed and sewn for a simple version. I ended up cutting one of these and hot gluing the seam in a fit of "I'm too lazy to do this right". Umm probably a bigger market for the shift knobs. And thanks for your efforts to keep these rigs looking better than new.
