Buying 3.4 v6 Tacoma with valve cover leak
I'm looking at upgrading my 92 reg cab 4 cly pickup with a 97 xtra cab v6 tacoma. It looks to be in great shape over all with 175k miles. The only hang up I have on it is there is a leak on the passenger side valve cover. Could that possibly be an expensive fix, or is it just a matter of replacing the gasket?
A quick search on the forums shows that's a common issue with the v6, I just wonder if that's the only thing it could be. It seems to me if that's what it is, he would have fixed it prior to selling just so it wasn't an issue... Thanks for the input. |
BTW, he said all it needs is to have the valve cover bolts tightened down. Seems like too easy a fix to not have done it already.
