Deschutes National Forest Proposes Three Trails OHV Project February 25, 2009 - The Deschutes National Forest in Oregon has published a notice of intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Three Trails OHV Project located on the Crescent Ranger District as part of the Travel Management Plan for the Forest. The proposed trail system would consist of 110-130 miles of interlinking trails with associated staging areas located between Crescent Lake Junction and the boundary of the Winema National Forest, west of Crescent. The Forest states that in order to balance the increase in open route density associated with the trail system, approximately 65 miles of roads would be closed. Comments on the scope of the proposal will be accepted until March 27, 2009.
