YotaTech Forums - New Program In Colorado

The Colorado Trail Patrol has been revived and is currently operating through a pilot program with USDA Forest Service, Colorado State Parks, and the BLM. We are taking an active roll in monitoring the trails with the intention of preserving our OHV opportunities and giving volunteers an easy, fun way to help with trail maintenance and land management.

We ask volunteers to log the trails they travel and document any issues they run across. Reports get sorted and go directly to recreation managers, planners and law enforcement officers depending on the situation. We then work with them to determine and organize a solution.

The creation of a statewide network of Patrollers will allow us to address small issues quickly and prevent extensive damage from continuing. Quick identification of issues will help direct resources and allow for issues of immediate need to be addressed.

Once our volunteers are trained, we ask they take a few minutes of their time after rides to input into our database their photos, where they traveled and incident descriptions. After that, we ensure the information goes to the proper authorities.

We will be holding training all around the state for those interested in becoming CTP volunteers.
