Rough Country 6" lift
I hadn't seen this posted before, so I thought I'd throw it up here and see what you guys think. I know it's just another bracket lift, but this thing looks amazing on 35s... Discuss :hillbill:

we used ot black out our taillights and trunsignals when i was into the lowrider scene with spray on tint , it came in a can jsut like spray paint , it wokred best if you took it off the vehicle and could lay it flat . it takes a little practice to get it even and no drips , but light coats and let it dry and repeat till its as dark as you want it. we found the stuff at the local parts tores like chekcer, and such.
beware though there re laws against tinting lenses. i did get one ticket for it , i think i could have beaten the ticket in oregon , by having the lights inspected by dot , for visiblity issues, and probably could have gotte nout of the ticket , but its worth checking out the laws in your area before doing so. what i had found out was that the lights had to be visible at a certein footage during night and day time , according to the dot , in my opinion , the tinting made it easier to reconize the light was on in the daylight wit htem tinted , and im sure it would have passed the distance test for bot hday and night , but i never persued it. airrikk17 |

I doubt they ever will. These lifts are usually for show and won't hold up to years of real off-road abuse.

Anyone know what kind of bumper that is on the front?
|
Also, does anyone have any experience with rough country's 3" lift for the fj?
|
my friend has a RC 3.5" lift for his cherokee and that thing is worthless, a year later his springs have rotated, his shocks are dead and he gained very little flex

Help from brackets? It just gives you tire clearance right? When it comes to suspension the only true gain to rigidity comes from Solid Axles, right? Can someone tell me why you would spend the time and money to do a bracket lift, messing with all of that IFS garbage when you could just swap a solid axle in there and really wheel it? Everything new from the factory except Jeeps, that I've seen, have IFS. What's the true reason that our 4x4's are being put together so cheaply with stock IFS. Is it like the stock stereos or paint jobs that they put in? Is it just sufficient enough to get it sold and off the car lot? These brackets, IMO, look lame...the tires however, do rock-Thanks

i had there other fj here at my dealer.it also looks great.even drove it for a couple days.it does see action.check out there website for video.it rode & drove pretty well also.got a bunch of looks in it.seem like a great bunch of guys when talking with them.pretty cool set of automatic fold down running boards too
|
Yeah it looks great. We would all love to have a solid axle, but its really not feasible. I might sooner or later, but i'm in a location where i can't work on anything, i.e. no garage.

Looks aggressive, but I am happy with my 3" OME lift.
No worries about CV boots rippin' and snortin' out grease, and it rides good too. http://www.pnw4runners.com/runs/123006/17thumb.jpg |
