FJ Cruiser

I am thinking about trading in my nissan armada for an FJ, my kids are off to school and dont need all that room. My question is are they good vehicals, I have priced them on autotrader and are quite reasonable.

I have had mine almost two years come this July.
Not one problem except for the infamous broken windshield.

Plenty of power, a hoot to drive, and equipped for action offroad right out of the box.

Some have had cracks under the hood, some have not.
Toyota is addressing that issue though.

i like them but the outward vision sucks feels like i was trapped in a box

Here is a good recent video of them in action.

No blind spots for me.
Some have trouble seeing out of them, others do not.
This is a vehicle where you need to learn to drive with mirrors.

I to will have mine 2 years come July. Awesome rig!

No problems yet! (well.. one that was user error :D)

Blind spots have never been a problem for me.

I Love this thing!

Just having the choice to drive an FJ over the Armada should be a good enough reason! You will be much happier with the FJ. If I had the money I'd buy one. I have a couple friends who have an FJ and I love em. They are setup for some wheeling from factory and have a decent engine and suspension to make your on road driving a dream. And the look AWESOME!

Test drive a new one at a dealer, or better yet rent one for the weekend if they have TRAC (rental) program FJ's.

In effect, they're re-bodied Land Cruiser Prados ($50K in other markets) with fully boxed frames. Available in part-time (5A/T) or full-time (6M/T). Very sturdy, maneuverable, good brakes, comfy, quiet even with the TRD intake and exhaust.

Oh yeah, I like them...a lot. Enormous OEM TRD support (especially the S/C), and the aftermarket is even bigger. This is the time to buy any SUV. Good luck, you won't regret getting the FJ, but won't like Armada resale.

Yea the avatar does need some updating :) Ive been busy lately with the move to WV and starting my new job with ATK. I posted some pics of the new rig here:

As for the 4Runner...Im not quite ready to part with it yet. I am keeping it at my parents house in MN for the time being until I decide what to do with it. I would love to use it as a trail truck out here now, but someday when I have the space I want to rebuild an old FJ40 to match the new FJ (maybe a bit dorky but I think it would be awesome to drive them interchangeably). I guess time will tell! I do have a set of FJ Cruiser running boards that have only been used for about an hour that I would be willing to sell you instead :bigok:

Oh, and the only thing I would change about it so far would be to add a 12v outlet to the inside of the dash compartment so that my TomTom GPS can be totally self contained. Dont be surprised if you see a writeup on this sometime in the future :)

The FJ Cruiser has been rated as one of the best on performance and great on quality (better than most SUVs). I think the FJ Cruiser is a great choice and I love the look. It looks different than most SUVs. It 's unique, yet still attractive and performs excellent.
