Does your ARB bar shake??
Well i got the ARB bumper installed a few days ago and didn't really notice this until i went down a rather bumpy washed out gravel road. When looking at the top of the ARB you can see it shaking as you hit the bumps... It feels tight when you grab hold and yank hard on it, but i can still feel some movement (more like a flexing of maybe the bracketry?). I ask this because the ARB i had on my old 4Runner was solid, it had no give whatsoever. Is this normal for the ones on the FJ? Is this maybe due to its compliance with the airbag sensors?
Thanks,
Paul

Yes, mine shakes.
It is perfectly normal from all the threads I have read online.
It is the way it is mounted, it is made to flex.
First time I saw it I was concerned too until I read the reason why it does it.

Thanks Corey. I haven't wired my Hella 500FF's that i have on the bar yet, as I am waiting for the switch to come in, do you have any issues with the beams shaking all over the place when driving?

The IPF foglights I have?
Have not noticed them moving, but I do not use them very often.
You wanna really see the ARB shake, mount the Hi-Lift jack to it like I have, and you can notice it more since the jack sits up higher than the bumper.

My mistake, I thought you had Hella's on the bumper, like your old 4runner. I opted not to go with the in-bumper IPFs.
I can imagine, with the hi-lift mounted there you would really see it move... I think I will mount my hi-lift to the roof rack. Speaking of hi-lift, have you used it on the front bumper? If so did you notice any flexing of the bumper?

Have not had to use the Hi-Lift yet.
I think there are cutouts on it to use a Hi-Lift with it though.
I use to have the Hi-lift on the rack, but I like it up front with the weight off the roof, and it is a lot easier to get to.
I will not be able to use my rack at all after this Friday, it will be home to a new mod like Wayne's.

Those tents are awesome... Do they attach to the factory rack on top? How much weight can they support? I thought i read the factory rack was somewhere around 150 or so lbs... I'd like to get one, but i'm pushing 235

They use the factory rack.
Here is more info, and the part #s for the Yakima bars and mounts.

The factory rack will hold more than you think.
I am not sure how it would hold up to the art of making a baby or practicing to make one
, it might be a little to much stress for the roof.
I am convinced after talking with many who own a RTT that these are the way to go.
