Tacoma/4Runner/T100 R150F Compatibility

Ive searched and searched but can't seem to find a definitive answer to this. I've got a 1995 T100 needing a 5 speed (R150F) transmission. What all other R150F Xsmsns can be used as a replacement? (tacoma, 4runner, etc). I have another 1995 T100 R150f (bad 5th gear) that came out of my dads truck I can pull parts from if needed.

I'm aware of the Xfer case drop differences. Can I just swap the Xfer case from the one I have to the Xsmsn from a Taco/4Runner? I've been told the shifters are in different spots and it wouldn't work. But when I ask the junkyard they say 'Yep, they all work fine no problem!' Of course they don't take refunds either.....

Can anyone shed some light on this?

My understanding is that the only difference between a T100 R150 and every other R150 is the bell housing, so you could probably just find yourself a good trans, swap your bell housing and transfer case on, and go.

I'm located in central TN. How much are you asking for it?

Transmission swap

I have a 1990 Toyota v6 extended cab pick up truck and the owner before me ended up doing a 4.3l engine swap and it’s pushing 300 hp and like 340 ftlbs torque and the stock r150 has lasted the last 20 years but I really wanna start looking into if anybody has tried getting like a Chevy HM290 5 speed out of a s10 and put it into the Toyota body and if it was close to the stock hole for the shifter or if it will be way off
