Engine Install Question
 

Quick question hoping y'all can answer. I have a 96 T100 with the 3.4 and auto(A340F so T-case is seperate). I am getting the engine and trans rebuilt and wanted to know if I can mate the engine and trans together and then install as a unit. the T-case would be left off and installed underneath. I have a lift so its not a huge deal to put the transmission in, but getting to those back top bolts and get the crossover pipe in would be a ton easier with everything out and install as one unit. so will everything clear the IFS? Any hang ups? The sway bar is off. thanks!

If it were me, I'd leave them separated. It'd be a PITA to guide the entire thing in. Drop the motor in, then install the trans from underneath, then bolt up the t-case. A fun filled afternoon in my book.

I've removed motors with the transmission and transfer case attached(on donor vehicles) and I have to completely destroy the front of the vehicle to get everything out.
