What's best way to run wires (for a light bar) through the firewall on an 04 4runner

Whats the best way to route wires (coming from inside the cabin) through the firewall to the battery (on an 04 4runner)? Is there any reason I shouldn't just run them through the existing plug that the rest of the wires are going through?
-Thanks!

I ran mine that way at first but did not feel comfortable with it just in case of a short some where some time so what I did was drilled a hole big enough to fit the wires through , shrink wrapped them then added a rubber grommet so the wires could not get chafed and short out then ran the wires up to the dash where they hook into the on/off switch.

You will also want to add an in line fuse so they blow the fuse before shorting out the rest of your truck that's the way I did mine and it paid off once already.

there's another gasket thats behind the glove box. I ran my wires through there up through the A pillar and along the sun roof channel and out through a hole I drilled in the roof.

Thanks for the input, DIhoward, when you ran the wires through the firewall plug, I'm guessing you had to cut the end off of that little rubber stopper thing to open up the hole?
