I was wondering if I could do a clean swap with a used ECM on my 95 pickup v6 3.0 or will it need to be reprogrammed?
I have found one online that is identical. All of the info on the outside matches mine.
My truck was in a flash flood and completely submerged. I've gotten it up and running again miraculously but the original
ECM has obvious signs of water damage on the inside. I'm trying to track down an engine misfire during idle so I figured
this could be one of many potential culprits.

Direct swap with different ECU of same part number.

These relatively simple old brains cannot be reflashed, far as I know.
