Tach Not Working
 

Does anyone have any idea what is going on with my tach, somtimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Mostly doesn't work when it is cold any ideas?

SORRY, it's a 1988 toyota pick-up with a 22r fuel injected 5-spd 4x4
the instrument cluster is from a 1986 4runner.

i have a 91 that did that and im sure it was a short in the wiring harness...
to fix all i did was cut the solid black wire comming out of the coil\igniter and the solid black wire coming out of the tach... wire the two up and it should work unless your tach is messed up ...im also going to rewire my whole truck front to back so thats just a temp fix so i could set the timing....good luck
