how to hardwire a radar...

Can someone help me.

I just bought a v1 radar... How do you remove the overhead? does it just pop open?

Which is the best wire to tap? a wire that only gets power when the car is on...thx for the help..

i set mine up right under the rearview mirrow, ran the wire along the head liner, down the pillar and tapped into the cigarette lighter wires. there are only 2 wires and make sure you use an in-fuse.

Why would you WANT to power the detector when the vehicle is off? It doesn't have a function unless your driving... unless you shut the engine off while hauling ass...

I'd tap into any source that's hot when the ignition is hot. Otherwise, I'd be leaving that little bugger on 24/7.

should have gotten a passport, buy the kit for 30 bucks and it includes a mute button and aux signal button to place at your desired location

Depends on if you are integrating it with your GPS and Nav Chartplotter.
Radar won't do you much good on a road vehicle though, and the antennas are really big anyway. But maybe a radar detector would be nice ...
