Headlights are broken
Alrighty... I went with a set of 80/100-Watt bulbs and I got the upgraded wiring harness also for my 94 4Runner. Well the wire harness fits into all the sockets. The wire harness worked all right.
This is the Kit I bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710 But the other day I hit the high beams and NOTHING, I have low beams (with aftermarket harness). I undo the harness and stick some other bulbs into the original sockets; they light up high and low. So my question is what should I do? Can someone explain to me why isn't working? All the relays are GOOD. Has anyone re-wired the headlights using the stock Relay and Fuse Panel?? Or is it safe to run an 80/100 bulb on the stock harness? I NEED HELP FAST!!!! |

I NEED HELP FAST!!!! is it possible that with the old bulbs and new harness, a short might have fried the highbeam fillament? from what i understand is u replaced the harness and bulbs and now ur bulb highbeams dont work, and when u replaced the bulbs they work? or is it possible the new harness is blown or has a short? :dunno: |
yep sounds like burnt bulbs to me!!

is that harness a switched ground set up ?

What sort of wiring harness is this? Have you checked out the relays (that I assume are in the harness) and the fuses/fusible-links in the harness?
- http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...shtml#TechInfo And x2 on checking the bulbs, you can often see if one of the 2 filaments inside the bulb is burned out. |
Well you changed two variables at once, so it's hard to tell which one is wrong.
plug the harness back into the bulbs that worked with high and low, go from there |
