Head Unit and Amps don't turn off with truck

I noticed today that when shutting the truck off the head unit and both amp lights stay on. I tried playing w/other accessories, wipers/headlights/interior lights, to see if they would go off, but they didn't. This is on a '91 4Runner. Any suggestions?

did you install the system by yourself?

check the harness behind the head unit to see if any loosen connections..could be ignition wire(red wire) on the harness

i second the notion. check to see that your (red) accessory wire isnt tagged into constant power (yellow) good luck.

if the deck stays lit up when you turn off the ign then it sounds like the illum (to ign acc. on) wire and the constant power (memory) wire were wired together to the constant 12v source.
pull apart and rewire. constant power (memory) to the constant 12v wire and the illum wire to the ign (acc. on)wire.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but you say that wipers/headlights/interior lights, will still work? If so, you have a bigger problem. Maybe a relay.

If not, rewire stereo as others mentioned.

X2 times
Also if the amp stays on you may want to check and see if the remote(blue wire) is also wired to the constant power wire.

Cool, will check that later. I can't remember specifically which wire I spliced into, maybe I did put it in a constant power.

As for the lights/wipers/etc...I just figured that maybe I had somehow wired it into something that would go on/off with them, it wasn't. I'll check to see what the HU/amps are getting power from and report back.

Well, took out the fuses for the amps last night and popped them back in this morning. Drove to work fine and now everythings OK. The HU and amps are turning off just fine. Cool, but kinda bothers me. Anyway, now I'm getting error codes on the HU, gotta figure those out.
