It's either the sender, the gauge, or the wiring in between. Start testing.

It is possible since you no longer use the electric fuel pump.

That the harness going to the fuel sender is unplugged.

Did you just get this or did you just swap the engine??

Has the fuel gauge ever worked??

The gauge is powered by the 15amp engine fuse

The gauge has a Y/R (yellow red tracer) wire coming from the sending unit

The low fuel light is a Y/L(yellow blue tracer) if you have a light

The ground is Brown

Could be a bad sending unit cut wires connection unplugged.

Good luck

Looking at the fuse block under the drivers side kick panel it is the middle fuse on the bottom row .

3 15 amp fuses .

I hope that helps.:jessica:

The fuse that powers the gauge is the 15 amp engine fuse.

When you checked for voltage did you have a good ground??

Bad connection where the harness plugs into the sending unit it does not take much sometimes they look good to the naked eye but still a poor connection.

This is what I had to do to fix my completely non working sender:

Have not confirmed by hooking it up to the gauge but in theory that's what will happen.

So, I have come up with some redneck engineering on this one. "Fix" the the connectors that were so corroded that they came off and were probably off which is why my gas gauge stop working in the first place.

Just soldered some wires on the original connectors, now I just got to put some disconnects on the factory wiring and on new sensor wires. I did check the resistances after putting the wires on to "ensure" a good solder and came up with the same values as I did when directly on the terminals. Sorry for the poor photo as my camera sucks.

the wires that go to the sending unit are good they are not rusted or fried there seems to be good connection to that part, im going to change out gauges today maybe there is a difference, if that doesnt work im going to start tracking the wires back and looking for grounds and what not, the lower middle fuse on the engine is good..
