Easy aftermarket reverse light set-up questions
I bought a cheap pair of Optronics 4"x2" lights to use as reverse lights. They claim to be 55w each but I highly doubt that. I want to simply run a hot wire from each light to each factory reverse light wire and ground them individually. Can this be done without diodes or relays? I really don't want to mess w/diodes and relays mostly because I'm really electrical ignorant and I'm lazy! I'm not installing a switch. They will only be operated by putting my rig in reverse. If I do it the way I want, should I remove the factory reverse bulbs so there's less load on the factory wiring/fuse? Thanks.

Use a relay and power it from the fuse panel or expect to replace your reverse switch a lot. One relay is all you need. Takes all of 15 minutes.
