door buzzer delete with pics

ok so this write up is for people who want to get rid of that horrible demon that is killing your ears but want to retain the headlight buzzer and dome light operation i tried doing it like other threads say but that wasn’t good enough for me (i couldn’t get the tab to come loose lol) so i approached the problem from a whole different angle

first off sorry about the pic size dont know how to make them smaller
tools needed
-phillips screwdriver
-picks (could be replaced with very small flat head screw driver
-10mm socket
http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/...el95/tools.jpg

you need to take off the panel under the steering wheel and the driver side kick panel (optional but makes it easier to remove other panel) then find the connector coming from the ign

your pinout might be different depending on what year your truck is i recomend taking a test light to each pin to see which one is the gets power from just the key being inserted into the ign mine was the #4 on the connector
take it apart once you find which one is the buzzer power wire and pull on this flap to partially unlock the connectors
http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/...plookslike.jpg
this is where you use your picks or flat head screwdriver and it comes up and should look like this

this next pic is to show you where the other clips holding the individual connectors are there is one for each pin
http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/...owtoremove.jpg
once the wire is free just push it out the rest of the way and then push the first clip you loosened back down then plug the connector in and test it by having the door open check to see if the buzzer isnt on when you put the key on( if it is you have done something wrong put it all back together and test light to find the wire that make the light turn on and off from the key simply being inserted into the ign) the dome light should work when the door is open and the lights buzzer should still work if you have one)
once its all done put everything back together and enjoy the sound of the radio with the door open without any annoying sound
if you have any questions feel free to ask
