Deck lamp button ?
 

I have an 89 first gen. 4runner and was wondering if some one can tell what the deck lamp button is for ? It just lights up when I push it but nothing else happens , it located next to the dash dimmer switch.

It actually doesnt even light up when I push it.

In stock form, you need to have the parking lights turned on before the deck light switch works. It turns on that little light behind the roll bar. You also have the switch on the deck light as well that must be on. I re-wired my deck light switch to work w/o the parking lights and extended the wiring to a roll bar mounted LED light for lighting up the deck area while camping. Works quite well.
