2000 tacoma running on 3 cylinders?

My perfectly great 2.7 tacoma started cutting out and ruuning rough. the check engine light would start flashing and then go off. it ran ok for just a little while, then started doing it again. I thought it would be one of the coils, but my mechanic says they are ok? He replaced a couple of spark plugs but tells me its still running bad. Compression checked out ok. anyone got any ideas?? :dunno:

If the compression is good it's likely a spark issue. Have you checked the resistance of the wires?

Tacoma running on 3 cylinders

I'll have the mechanic check the wires. Could there be any sensors that could cause this ?:dunno:

After further checking it was a plug wire issue. One of the long plastic boots that attatches to the plug had a crack and was firing sporadically/horizontally to the block. Thanks for your help. :rockin:
