Ford horn in 87 pick-up
First remove the grill to get to the stock horn. it should be on the passenger side.
I used a piece of back strap i had laying around. Any strip of metal should work. I had to drill bigger holes in it to mount the horns.
Find a place to mount them so that they don't hit anything. I had to tweak it just a bit so that it wouldn't hit the grill.
I used these crimp on connectors so i didn't have to cut the stock plug off. The blue was + and the green was -
You have to wire up a relay. The ford horn grounds to the frame, if you mount these to the frame and hook up the + the horn will stay on. I wired my relay like this.
86 ground on the stock harness (the green wire)
85&87 positive on the stock harness ( the blue wire)
30 positive on the horn itself
Hope this helps someone get rid of their stock dinky horn. Here is it all finished.
