Those of you with Commando 870

I am considering this alarm. I see there are a few people on here who have install this alarm.

How do you like it? Any strange problems? Difficulty to install?

I read something from bob98sr5 that it took a while to install (over a few days).

Any other important info would be great

Edit: Oh, and if anyone knows what the "Knock sensor" "driver paging sensor" and the "temp sensor"

They are options for the 870, but i don't know what they do.

i have it and i like it. i got it because of all the positive reviews about it on here. it wasn't "difficult" to install, but it does take a long time and can get tedious up under the dashboard.

i don't know what those extra things are, i didn't purchase any extra options, just the main package.

How is the preformance of the keypad? I see its advertised at 2500+ feet. What is the more realistic range to expect? How about through buildings?

And what about how hard is it to change settings? Things like silent arming and dissarming and other features

Hmm I just use a Remington 870.... effective and loud, but sometimes cumbersome to carry :D

No alarm will save your truck if someone really wants it. I highly suggest you put in a battery and fuel cut off switch somewhere inconspicous.

Infact if your really worried I would install a set of toggle switches, where you had to toggle them correctly in order for the truck to run. Even then have a set of hidden switches that need to be toggled on as well.

If a thief wants your vehicle they will stop at nothing to take it, but it isnt likely they can drag your 4,000 lbs truck away with a wrecker if it wont start or move.

Dont wanna get fancy, pull the EFI fuse-they aint going nowhere.

i understand that. That didn't really answer my question...

This alarm has a lot of other features built into it. Remote starter being a main one.

And just so you know, of course anyone can really get a car. But i live in a small town, where the only people im really worried about stealing it are coke heads, and people i don't get along with at school. People that know absolutly nothing about cars in the first place. They would set off my regular RS3000. Im just looking for extra features.

Thanks AH64ID - I will check that alarm out
