There's a clicking noise coming from my clutch and I'm super scared the little clip feel off the throwout bearing. That means dropping the transmission again and I just installed the new clutch. Shifts fine though.

The climate control levers are all busted up and do not work at all, no defrost in winter is a drag.
The tailgate that I already replaced once needs to be replaced again due to motorcycles bending the inside surface to the point it the latch doesn't work again. Latches are cheap and $92.00 for a tailgate isn't all that much but, I don't have $92.00 to just throw at a tailgate again.
I put too much lift in my truck to load anymore motorcycles, ain't happening again but, my ATC will go in the bed again.

storys 4 the big boys

91 Pickup V6 3VZE Checking In--

Previous owner took out the battery restraint so the power steering belt dug a hole in the battery and the fluid dripped onto the lines underneath. Not a big deal in all actuality. Crooked fenders and an offset (replaced) front bumper. Replaced because I crashed Into a fence, and I swear to whatever god you pray to that the truck ran better after. Collisions do not effect this truck. Dented door and missing AM/FM antenna from when some hater at the strip club smashed up my truck with a 2x4 and drank all my liquor! On my birthday! Not cool! I decide to be "responsible" and walk home. Next time I'll push the truck thank you very much!!! Right now it's the engine that's not working. Right when you think the thing couldn't go any slower... BAM! You just turned that 3 point slow into a 3 point no. But it hasn't seen it's last days. Every kilometer on this vehicle is equivalent to one good time and I plan on having many more. Thanks for listening to this sad prude babble...

ALternator doesn't get signal to charge

I've got an 84 SR5 4x4 truck and I have 2 good alternators and two good regulators that I've been trying. I can't get it to charge. Which wire is it that isn't doing it's job? Is it an ignition switch problem? This is apparently a mid year truck where it could have had any of three different alternators. Toyota can't tell me which one for sure, even with the VIN.

Any takers????

I have another wiring question. How do I hook up a 4-flat plug for trailer lights that will allow the brake lights and the blinkers to work on a 1984 Toyota truck? Seems to me that years ago the was some kind of conversion box the we had to use, but I can't seem to find anyone out here that knows anything about it. Any help will be appreciated.

I have an extra Toyota transfer case that I would like to piggy back onto mine. I see people have the Marlin setup but is it possible on mine with some sort of adapter? Is there a shop in AZ that anyone would recommend I contact about this?

Go to Marlin's site and check it out.

https://www.marlincrawler.com
They sell adapters to mate up two transfer cases or whole dual t case set ups like I have in my 85 Xtra-Cab.

Were you able to just use a one piece drive shafts after the conversion? I hate that carrier bearing on mine.

Yes, I have a nice and heavy duty one piece shaft out back and a Marlin Crawler long spline up front.

Possible a head gasket or motor

Fired it up yesterday to warm it up. Got stuck inside for about 15 minutes. Came out gauge is touching the red and no heat in the vents. Water all over the TPS/thermostat area. Rained nonstop today so I didn't want to stand in the rain diagnosing a cooling problem. Hoping i got lucky. Just replaced the t-stat and must have not torques a bolt down. It a completely rebuilt motor with under 30,000 on it.

A problem well-stated is a problem almost solved.
How do you know the battery is not charging?
How do you know you have two good alternators when neither is charging the battery?
Got a Voltmeter?
I have a 22R-E so I'm not sure if your truck's schematic is same as mine. Anyway, this post (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post52094780) shows pin-outs of the alternator.
Check voltages at 'IG", "S", and "B". Don't worry about "L' yet. Let us know what you find.

driver door key lock cylinder.... have to crawl in through the passenger side for over a week now, not cool.

Got a new key cut at Toyota for $10, no dice. I could fiddle around with the cylinder and possibly 'fix' it but just ordered a whole new lock set for $287. Includes ignition, two door locks and a third door lock for the fuel door. Boomsauce. Can't wait for like new locks!!

And the speedo went out on the 4runner.... among many other things on it. But it still runs after 24 years original so can only complain so much.

Lumber Rack = Metal Fatigue

Recently purchased '96 T100 with Ext Cab. Prior owner had a lumber rack with 6' hang over the cab. Oscillation and vibration created metal fatigue on the front corners of the bed and broke the mounts. Got it rewelded, but the ride still has vibration. Time for new shocks. Other than cruising the beach at low tide, I don't plan on serious off-roading. Opinions on KYB stock shocks for mainly highway use?
