Undercoating
I need to apply an undercoating to the Tacoma since its new and winter is almost here in MI. I'm not interested in the rubberized stuff or Por15. I considered using the Eastwood rust encapsulator, but it is a paint and more designed for existing rust.
A friend with a Rubicon said the best undercoating was the Texaco. He said he was unable to find it when he got his done. There is a product called WaxOyl that is made in Switzerland, and not sure how available it is in the U.S. Some more searching, and found this article that described using a bar and chain oil and a sprayer.... http://www.type2.com/library/body/baroil.htm Here is some more information about the WaxOyl.. http://www.robisonservice.com/articles/RonR_waxoyl.asp |
My 87 has waxoyl or a sticker that says it has. I think the 1st owner had it done but maybe it was done by the dealer. I can say that my frame and undercarriage look great! But I don't live in areas that salt their roads....

I'd also like to know if one of these products can be sprayed over the engine to keep the salt from depositing under the hood. |
