Thoughts on Autozone's "Line-X"?

Well, I had both my removable shell and top of my cab line-x'ed, and I love it. And as much as I'd hate to paint over my purrdy Kawasaki Green paint job, my truck is pretty battle scared. Dents from various things like trees hittin the truck (my bumper tends to think it's a tree slayer), tail gate pushed all in from me puttin my trailer hitch through a couple cars and truck's radiators that wanted to see how good my brakes work (which as they found out was very good), drunked fights, drunked rednecks headbuttin it, and various other things.

Now the dents don't really bother me, just the paint comin off from such said dents, got me to thinking about line-x'ing the rest of the truck. Now I really can't afford to have it done professionally, and I've seen some people who swear by autozone's version of line-x (and it looked good actually), and I'm thinkin bout using that and doin it myself. So anyone have any idea about the cost of that stuff, how much it'd take to do the truck (not countin the top and cab though, seein as how its already done), and how easy/hard it is to apply it yourself? All thoughts would be much appriciated.

herculiner

I used herculiner on many parts of my runner. I love it and it is definately durable. Tips...take your time, use 2+ coats, use the uv protectant, buy latex gloves.

Cool. So how much comes in a can? They sell em in pints or gallons? Bout how much per can? How much does one can do? Lol sorry for all the questions....

They sell the Gallon kits (with the rollers and all) for about $90, and they sell pints too. Lots of places have it and I have seen Pep Boys and Advance run specials on it before. Dunno on how much you need but it does bond to itself so if you run out it's not a huge dilemma.

Oh, and if you get any on your hands don't take a leak until you clean it off

 TOO funny. But something I can imagine myself doing.

Ohh, another question I forgot. Can I just paint over the paint I have on there, or do I need to strip it down? Prep work or just roll and go?

Okay, well I went to autozone, and priced it. It's bout $99.99 for a gallon. On the bucket, it says that one gallon will do 2 full coats for a 6' truck bed. My question, bout how much yall think it'll take to do my runner in it's entirety?

And I know it says you can put it on painted/primered metal, but how advisable is that? Worth it to just rent a sand blaster for a couple hours and strip my truck of it's purdy green paint job, or just screw it and paint right over it? What're yalls thoughts on the matter?

Well, in it's entirety, I mean minus the top and the cab, seein how it's already done. Heres a pic incase I'm not makin much sense lol...

Buy a undercoating gun, and spray it on. It will go a heck of a lot further, and look a ton better. Heres a jeep that was sprayed.........
