It cant calculate the average MPG because the MPG column is divided by zero until you input the number of gallons purchased. I think its possible to right a custom function that would average it correctly using an if statement bu I am not sure how to do this

It is good for 2000 entries, which I figure should be enough for a little while and avoids #DIV/0 stuff.

You can get it at http://www.dahanga.com/MPG_Report.xls
This one works without the divide by 0 showing

I added a dropdown for fuel type. Also added Brand and Additive fields. Still at http://www.dahanga.com/MPG_Report.xls

Any other good ideas?

Updated again to not be so wide. Moved totals to top of the sheet instead of off to the side.

Dang Juppers, it keeps gettin' better
I replaced it one more time.

This is cool, no more scribbling in the old log book I have been using since '98.

I use www.sanjosegasprices.com 's Fuel Logbook function. They have sites for other states/cities as well. It's all hosted by www.gasbuddy.com

I always wanted to make my own site similar to that, but I still haven't gotten around to it...maybe one day

I don't remember how to do it, but how about keeping the totals and the column titles always at the top of the view.

So you could be enntering data on line 200, but it still shows the titles locked on top.

Really good ideas. Now I have frozen the total and header section as Yoda suggested, and added a chart to track MPG over time, like on the gasbuddy site marko3xl3 posted. Still at http://www.dahanga.com/MPG_Report.xls

This one is different than my current one.
Can you fix it?
Or is it the same?

Oops! I had some test data in there. It is updated with your stuff now Corey. Plus I fixed a problem with the graph scaling properly into the future. It will look funny until the data spans a bit more time. New version at http://www.dahanga.com/MPG_Report.xls

Thanks, got the new one.

I get an error message though when I try to enter super premium and Safeway for my gas.
It says:
A user has restricted user cells or something like that.

The fuel type is just a drop down. There are 3 options, Regular, Plus, and Premium. Did I miss an octane?

My bad, I did not see the drop downs
I did not know you could do that.

Told ya I was a noob to the world of spread sheets.
I am behind the times on them.

It worked perfect.
Choose the rating, then typed in the store, and it worked.

Thannks again.

I bet once the engine is broke in all the way (5K they say) and I switch to Amsoil synthetics, I will see 21 or better.

Not bad for a rig that far out weighs my '91 4Runner, and has a bigger powerplant.

Oh, did I mention I love my FJ

A request please.
Here is my current one.
http://www.pnw4runners.com/index.php..._mpg_maint.xls

It has the Maintenance tab on it, but not much info.

Can it be erased all of that info and a new setup with all this info be added via drop down list, and then just input the date, mileage and money involved in the maintenance item like I do for the gas on the MPG tab?

This would be very cool, and a great way to track all maintenance on our rigs.

Oil change
Coolent flush
Transmission flush
Wiper blades
Differential oil
Front end 4x4 bearing repack/grease
Brake service
Tires
Battery
Tune-up
Air filter
(Add anything else that gets done often)

And a misc. box where you can type in a service that is not included in the above list, or a blank spot in the drop down list that lets us type in manually the item.
That would be good for if you are paying to have a mod installed.

Lightbulb Update on MPG spreadsheet

My apologies if this discussion has been relocated, but can anyone provide me with a current copy of the MPG spreadsheet?

...none of the links above are still alive.

Cheers!
