Sound Proofing

I have had the carpet out my truck for a while now and i planned on rock guarding all the metal showing with that sorta bed liner stuff. Unfortunately there are these peiced of i think, sound dampening stuff all over. It looked like it was gummy at one time but now its hard. I am pretty sure if i paint over this it would like crap. Any suggestions?any ways of getting this stuff out?anyone do this before?thanks in advance.Ill post a pic if you dont know what i am talking about. I already rock guarded from the rear seats back.

Well, you could take a heat gun(or a hair dryer) to it and see if that gets it off, or spray some carb cleaner on it, esp if it's adhesive.

Try getting it wet......or soak it down with some adhesive remover. Let it set for awhile then try scraping it up
