RUF question
Hi i want to do the RUF swap but as im sure you guys know you need two sets of springs to make a stiffer pack, so i have my stock rear springs but i dont have another pack form that year of truck. bt i do have a pair form a 75 2 wheel drive toyota, so is it possible to use these springs in the pack?
Thanks:hillbill: |
does anyone know this?
|
how does noone know this? the springs loo exactly the same as newer ones basically what im asking is can you use 2wd springs.
|
what is a RUF swap?
|
is that whats slowing you guys down? It stands for Rears up front, you take you stock rear springs and put them up front.
|
RUF to me is referring to the Porsche tuners.
|
thats prolly cause you guys own newer trucks this is just for the 79-85 trucks.

Well I've done quite a bit of reading on this topic, and still have a question, I know this is not a science but let me know if this might work.
I have a set of Rough country 3" lift springs for the front, would I be able to mix my stock set of rears and the RC springs to keep my front axle in the stock location? If not, RUF is not for me just yet, and I'll have to ride the lift springs. Possible pack: 1st: 1st leaf from lift pack 2nd: 2nd leaf from lift pack 3rd: main leaf from Rear pack (military wrap) 4th: cut down Rear leaf 5th: cut down Rear leaf |
Forgive my SAS (Solid Axle Stupidity)..
But what would the advantage be with this mod? |
Advantage would be approx 2-4 inches of lift in the front...
For the 79-85 solid axle trucks you can do a "junkyard" lift which is just misc. leaf springs and some spare time. |
